Alexey Nekrasov received the diploma in radio engineering, the Ph.D. degree (Candidate of Technical Science) and the academic title of Associate Professor from the Taganrog State University of Radio Engineering (TSURE), Taganrog, Russia, in 1991, 1998, and 2000, respectively. From 1991 to 1999, he was an Assistant Professor of the Department of Radio Receiver Equipment and Television at the TSURE. In 1994-2007, he also has worked as a Researcher in the Sea and Land Remote Sensing Group. From 1999 to 2007, he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Radio-Electronic Facilities of Protection and Service, and since 2007, he has been an Associate Professor at the Department of Security of Information Technologies, and a Senior Scientist with the Sea and Land Remote Sensing Group.

He received a fellowship of the President of Russia for Ph.D.-students, fellowships from the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) for research in the Max-Planck-Institute for Meteorology, Hamburg, Germany, and GKSS Research Center, Geesthacht, Germany, a fellowship from the International Processing Center (OPI) for research in the University of Gdansk, Poland, a fellowship from the Institute for International Scientific and Technological Co-operation (ICCTI) for research in the University of Porto, Porto, Portugal, a fellowship from the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO) for research in the Delft University of Technology, Netherlands, joint fellowships from the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia and the DAAD for research in the Hamburg University of Technology and the Christian-Albrechts-University of Kiel, Germany, a fellowship from the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) for research in the University of Naples “Parthenope”, Italy, a medal of the University of Naples “Parthenope”, fellowships from the Slovak Academic Information Agency (SAIA) for research in the Technical University of Kosice, Slovakia, from the European Community Mobility Program Erasmus Mundus for research at the Interdepartmental Center for Research in Environmental Sciences of the Alma Mater Studiorum – University of Bologna in Ravenna, Italy, from the Fulbright Program for research at the ElectroScience Laboratory of the Ohio State University, USA, from the Endeavour Awards Program for research at the University of New South Wales, Australia, and the title of Adjunct Associate Lecturer at the University of New South Wales.

He has been a principal investigator of the state scientific and research work “Research and Development of Radar Methods and Equipment for Remote Sensing of Environment”, and a research manager of many projects. He has four official records of thanks for an excellent work from the university administration in his workbook (service record). He has been a reviewer of the IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing and the ISPRS International Archives of the Photogrammetry, Remote Sensing and Spatial Information Sciences.

His research interests include sea and land remote sensing from airplane and satellite, oceanography, sea winds, scattering from rough surfaces, radar system design, and information security. He is looking for new possibilities to take part in international and national projects.
